Comrades, we gather again from the different territories that we inhabit and aim to meet for the 2nd Public Assembly of Cross-border Feminists, organized together with the comrades of the EAST network (FB event), on Sunday, 20th if June at 10.00 (Mexico) / 11.00 (Chile) / 12.00 (Argentina) / 17.00 (Italy) / 18.00 (Turkey) / 20:30 (India) / 18:00 (Harare) / 17:00 (Kenya) to relaunch the call made by our Turkish comrades to convene a day of global protest on the 1st of July in light of Turkey’s withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention. In this meeting we will be connecting the struggles of the last months against domestic violence, the exploitation and devaluation of our essential jobs, patriarchal violence with its border regime, police violence, State terrorism, institutional racism and the blackmail of residence permits, criminalization of the struggles of women and LGBTQI+ people. 

The meeting will be in Spanish and English with live interpretation, and the invitation is open to individuals and groups through this registration form.

In this assembly we want to re-launch the call made by our Turkish comrades for a day of global protest on the 1st of July, the day on which Turkey’s withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention will be made official. We know that the Istanbul Convention, although it is the result of the struggles that we have been fighting for years, does not ensure an end to patriarchal violence. For this reason, we continue to denounce transnationally the attempt against life that neoliberal states are doing in our territories, the action of fundamentalisms, the patriarchal constructions of the reproduction of life, etc. We said it and we continue to reaffirm it: we will not pay for the crisis with our bodies!

We live in times where violence has become radicalized in the face of the organization of peoples to resist the crisis, it has become radicalized in our homes and work spaces, the control of our schedules, trips and meetings is becoming normalized. We know that it is our struggles and our strike that challenge the patriarchal, racist and capitalist attack that governments throughout the world have intensified during the pandemic, as the comrades in the front line in the strike in Colombia and the Palestinian comrades that are demonstrating. They resist the imperialist occupation, and it is our struggles that break the conservative rhetoric that tries to contrast the freedoms of women with those of LGBTQI+ people. That is why we call ourselves to join together, to discuss and collectively build strategies to confront the violence that we are experiencing, to recognize the struggles that the different comrades are living in the different territories. We want to ask ourselves what is the place of the feminist strike in this process of struggle and resistance. The strike inhabits our struggles and in these years it has been able to turn feminism transversal, connecting the struggles of women with those of LGBTQI+ people, migrants, indigenous peoples and workers transnationally towards the subversion of the neoliberal and racist reproduction of the patriarchal and capitalist society.

For all these reasons, we wish our assembly to be a moment of reflection on the feminist strike as a process of denunciation, encounter, imagination and construction of alternatives. We call on everyone to participate in our assembly on the 20th of June, in order to intensify our global interconnection and organize ourselves towards the 1st of July and to shout together that our fight is essential and our strike is essential!

Encuentro Feministas Transfronterizas hacia el 1 de Julio: Activamos la Huelga contra Todas las Violencias

Compañeras/es nos convocamos nuevamente desde los distintos territorios que habitamos y construimos para encontrarnos en la 2da Asamblea abierta/pública de Feministas Transfronterizas, organizada junto con las compañeras de la red EAST, el domingo 20 de junio a las 10.00 (México) /11.00(Chile)/ 12.00(Argentina)/ 17.00(Italia)/ 18.00(Turquía) para relanzar el llamamiento hecho por nuestras compañeras turcas y convocar un día de lucha feminista global el 1 de julio ante la preocupante retirada de Turquía de la Convención de Estambul. En este encuentro estaremos conectando las luchas trasversales y estructurales de los últimos meses en contra de la violencia doméstica, la explotación y devaluación de nuestros trabajos esenciales, la división sexual y racial del trabajo,  la violencia patriarcal con su régimen de fronteras, la violencia policial, el terrorismo de Estado, el racismo institucional, el chantaje de los permisos de residencia, la criminalización de las luchas de las mujeres  y de las personas LGBTQ. El encuentro será en castellano e inglés con traducción y la invitación está abierta a individualidades, como así también, a agrupaciones colectivas.

Sabemos que la Convención de Estambul, si bien es el resultado de las luchas que venimos dando hace años, no asegura el cese de la violencia patriarcal. Por ello, continuamos denunciando con nuestras luchas transfronterizas el atentado contra la vida que están gestionando en nuestros territorios los estados neoliberales, la acción de los fundamentalismos, las construcciones patriarcales de la reproducción de la vida. Lo dijimos y seguimos reafirmando; ¡no pagaremos la crisis con nuestros cuerpos!

Vivimos tiempos donde las violencias se han radicalizado frente a la organización de los pueblos para resistir la crisis, se ha radicalizado en nuestros hogares y espacios de trabajo, se ha querido normalizar en el control de nuestros horarios, desplazamientos y reuniones. Sabemos que son nuestras luchas y nuestra huelga las que desafían el ataque patriarcal, racista y capitalista que en todo el mundo los gobiernos han intensificado durante la pandemia, como lo están demostrando las compañeras en primera línea en el paro en Colombia y las compañeras Palestinas que resisten a la ocupación imperialista, y son nuestras luchas las que rompen la retórica conservadora que intenta contraponer las libertades de las mujeres con las de las personas LGBTQ.  Es por ello que nos convocamos a acuerparnos, a discutir y construir colectivamente estrategias que enfrenten las violencias que estamos viviendo, a reconocer las luchas que las distintas compañeras/es están dando en los diversos territorios. Queremos preguntarnos cual es el lugar de la huelga feminista en este proceso de lucha y resistencia. La huelga vive en nuestras luchas y en estos años ha sido capaz de volver el feminismo transversal, conectando de manera transfronteriza las luchas de las mujeres con las de las personas LGBTQI+, las y les migrantes, las y les indígenas, las y les trabajadores hacia la subversión de la reproducción neoliberal y racista de la sociedad patriarcal y capitalista. 
Por todos estos motivos queremos que nuestra asamblea sea un momento de reflexión sobre la huelga feminista como proceso de denuncia, de encuentro, de imaginación, de transversalización y de construcción de alternativas.  Llamamos a todas y todes a participar a nuestra asamblea el 20 de junio, para poder intensificar nuestra interconexión global y organizarnos hacia el 1 de julio y para gritar conjuntamente que nuestra lucha es esencial y nuestra huelga es esencial!
